I've just has a chat with some hard-to-understand Irish woman about getting a 600k broadband connection installed, and I also asked her whether I could have their 'broadband + console' package, so I could use my PS2 to go online as well as my PC.
She got confused.
She said that I'd be able to download games but not be able to play online with my PS2, even though they are advertising that I could do so on their homepage.
Also, I'm pretty certain a few users on here are online with their PS2's using an ntl broadband connection. If so, why are they saying I can't?
Shouls I get a broadband connection and just hook my PS2 up anyway?
Someone help.
Thank you.
It looks as though I'll go ahead and sign up to ntl's 600k service and go online anyway.
Trouble is, I really want this broadband + console package, because they, apparantly, hook your PS2 and PC up for you, so you don't have to go through the hassle with all the wires, etc.
I've e-mailed them. Hopefully they'll be more helpful and I can use this broadband + console package.
Otherwise, it looks as I'm going to have to go with the old router option myself.
And yeah, when I do eventually go online, I will be a member of ~SRS~.
*this was not at NTL, t'was a different company.

They do? Does this apply for 150k aswell? Suppose a gig is pretty big though. I never download stuff only music.

I bust that cap daily and they ain't done squat
problems with ntl are:
1. don't ask them anything remotely technical as they know nothing
2. don't ask them why the news server has been out of service for days, they only tell you how to set up 'outlook express' (erm hello ntl they're are better news readers out there you know), and not why the actual server is down.
3. any problem you have that reqires an engineer call out takes days to fix as they always want to give you a delayed time slot it took a week for an engineer to arrive to fix a cable tv fault which strangely fixed itself an hour before he pitched up
4. do i get a refund on the time without cable television? DO I HELL !

I know a lot of people have issues with NTL, but personally, I quite like them and have never had any problems.
It can take ages to get through to their helpdesk sometimes, but when I do they're always very helpful, and resolve any problems quickly.
Our digital cable, phone and broadband was installed quickly and with minimum fuss, and on the few occasions we've needed an engineer out, they've been punctual and very quick to resolve the problem.
There were a few service issues just after my broadband was installed, but it's generally very reliable, and I haven't had any down-time for almost a year now.
My only complaint, really, is the 1GB cap they've put on broadband usage - it seems to defeat the whole object. But to be honest, it hasn't really affected me. Yet.
