(looks a bit dodgy to me !)
What i'm doing at the moment is;
Graphical Maths 2, which is learning stupid complicated maths formulae to work out how to draw curves and surfaces, and using PARABOLIC BLENDING to join seperate curves so that they look good etc.
Graphical Programming, which is using Visual C++ and Open GL to learn how to program Open GL to draw graphical n stuff. Next semester we move onto Direct X!
Games Design, which is learning how to design games funnily enough! What makes a game good/fun/enjoyable/playable etc
Introduction To Games Technology, which is learning what's inside a PC and Consoles. How that stuff works, makes some better than others etc etc. Had a lecture on this today, and the guy was talking about why PC's were good gaming machines and what type of memory you need etc.
User Interfaces, which is about designing user interfaces. Sounded like a really interesting module when I chose it, but the lectures for this are painfully boring. Mainly as it's at 9am Monday for 2hrs!
Well that's what i'm doing so far on the 2nd year of my course!
As well as doing that though, I went into the labs today to see what was happening in the Games lab, as I haven't been in there for ages since I got the lan set up in my house. Well there was some newbie first years playing Unreal Tourney, so I had to join in and show em how to play! The Slayer was raining victorious yet again! With the last match with 4 ppl on a 30 frag limit finishing with me on 30 and the next guy down on 13! These newbies have a lot to learn! {Just goes to show what spending your first year at uni playing Quake 3 in the labs all the time does to ya!}
:)
What do you actually do on the Games Designer course thing? Are there a lot of people doing it?
:)
:)
guess it'd do the job...
