We all know the conventional process that consoles evolved in such as from 8 bit to 16 bit then 16 to 32bit and so on. Well as you all know Nintendo got ahead of themselves and skipped the 32bit consoles and went straight from 16 to 64 while Sony and Sega were knocking about with their 32bit counterparts.
Well I was thinking if Nintendo hadn't made the jump missing the 32bit gap would these 'next generation' consoles now be on the 64bit mark? Would we be playing in the wondrous 128bit worlds that we are now?
It was just a thought so what do you think are we to thank Nintendo for that?

P.S. I'm not saying that Nintendo or anyone else are great or anything, i'm simply asking a question.
> 128bit now, why is it Nintendo's fault? surely a high powered system is better?
Dont take 'fault' in the usual context as in a problem, it was just a word I used.
the thing is, the systems would have been 128bit whatever, because that's what they could afford in their budget. I'm glad the systems are 128bit now, why is it Nintendo's fault? surely a high powered system is better?
Saturn=32 bit
Dreamcast=128bit
PS=32 bit
PS2=128bit
Nintendo had entered the 32 bit era anyway but failed with the Virtual Boy. It should be mentioned they are in it at present with the GBA.
But really the 'Bit's' nowaday's are no big deal and don't matter as much as they used to.
