The last time I had a pC I handed over £900 for a DX4 100Mhz. Obviously, times have changed and in my quest for broadband and Xbox Live, I've decided to purchase a PC. What I'd like to know is what SR's Maxx PCs are like? The money's not a problem and I can get the highest spec one if I wanted to but I just want to know whether anyone has one and what upgrades etc. I should get. Please bear in mind that I don't want to be buying a new one for another couple of years, at least.

So, any suggestion?

Buy it as separates and put the thing together yourself. That way you get exactly what you want and higher spec stuff for the same price as a pre-built machine.

I *could* give you some URLS... but I like SR so I've said enough.

SR apparently make good quality pc's with good components and if you can't really pay for it all straight away you can spread payments over 36 months which is 3 years.

By the time you've paid for it though, in 3 years time your pc will be out dated and the Maxx PC's aren't all that great.

Yep this is always the best option and with the current technology it's easy to do.

Perhaps.. but would you want to spend 3 years with a pentium 500 and voodoo 3 for 3 years or get a new computer either way... o_O

I'd rather save up the money, buy the parts of the net and then build a pretty decent pc myself, one that'd blow the maxx pc's easily and you can just by looking around on the net.

I've just been looking at prices on the net and the MAXX 4D XP 3000+ which is £1,099.99 i could build for £872.88. Now see how much money you save? The MAXX PC's aren't all that good anyway cos they only run at 333Mhz bus speed also the Athlon XP 3000+ dos not run at 2.6GHz, it only runs at 2.17GHz and also again to get the most out of your pc build one that has a 400Mhz bus speed.
