My borther has an X-Box and with all the Wimbledon stuff thats going on and the fact he played an arcade version of some tennis game whilst on holiday, he seems all of the sudden to want a tennis game.

My question is, what is the best tennis game available or is there one going to be released anytime soon...
I found the following three on SR but are there others? Which would you recommend?
He would like one with real players and tournaments etc. but one of the games is just women, and the other doesn't have any real players.
Cheers, my brother does appreciate it :)

1) TENNIS MASTER SERIES 2003 (£10 on Play.com *bargain; sorry SR*)
2) PRO TENNIS WTA TOUR
3) SLAM TENNIS

Simulation = Virtua Tennis.
Fun = Mario Tennis.

It depends on what you're looking for.

Virtua Tennis was the best, although Mario Tennis was fun.

But for a proper tennis game it has to be Virtua Tennis.

Single player was mostly what I did in Mario Tennis. Mulitplayer was great, but I did enjoy the game's tournament modes.

Most Tennis games are boring in single player however I consider Virtua Tennis as an exception. World Tour mode, a bag of wine gums and a glass of Fanta :) Played it for hours on end and I still enjoy going back.

I find tennis games pretty dull in single player really, they're superb in mutliplayer though.

Monkeh Tennis is superb though.

Virtua Tennis is excellent, but seeing as I enjoyed Mario Tennis just as much then I really don't believe that gameplay won't progress further than Sega's classic series.

Play Virtua Tennis 2K2 and go on the World Tour mode. Its genius.
