I saw Alien: Ressurection at the cinema back in 1997, and remembered that I didn't much like it, but I sat down to watch it again last night anyway.

At first I couldn't remember why I didn't much like it, the story was dumb, yes, but there were plenty of aliens running around, killing dirty space pirates.

Then it got to the bit that made me realise that this film became bloody awful.

Yep, Ripley falls through a hatch, and 'crowd surfs' over some aliens. Then she ends up in a chamber with some bloke in a coocoon of some sort, talking about how Ripleys gift to the Alien queen was a human reproductive system.

We see the big queen alien grunt a bit, then it is born, and I shall name him 'Suckor' - the suckiest alien ever to feature on an Alien film. Hell, no the sucky-most alien ever to feature on anything, ever. Worse than the 'alien' in that fake alien autopsy film that surfaced 5 years ago.

Look at it's human features, those big sad eyes - oh how it sucks!

Look at the maternal bond between Ripley and 'Suckor', look how it rubs it's face around her - how it sucks!

Ironic then, that the 'Suckor' should become the sucked, when it gets sucked out of a hole in the space ship.

To think that a series that came up with face-huggers and stomach-bursters should then create 'Suckor' is a tragedy!

*shakes head*

Suckor, you spoilt this movie.

They all kinda merge into one for me. I remember liking Aliens a lot though... and that robot dude, who couldn't stab the hand.

Anytime that was on over the weekend or something, you could go back to school and everyone would be stabbing their pens around their hands... most of them ended up with ink all over their fingers mind.

I had that machine thing as well, that Ripley used to attack the queen in... big yellow thing. Not real size though, just a toy.

I didnt like Alien 3.
Fincher or no Fincher, lots of bald men swearing in English whilst being chased down dimly lit tubes didnt do it for me.

Ripley being part-alien and absolutely mean was a good thing, in my opinion.

And the whole pyscho-sexual aspect was a good thing I thought,

I liked it. And the alien was at least a fresh image. And it did rip the head off the alien queen. AND, there was a cool rasta guy who had filp down guns. But it will never beat Aliens, the best of the series.

This film was poo and made Alien 3 almost entirely pointless.
However, Alien 3 was also poo and made Aliens entirely pointless.

Aliens rules! Pretty damn mindless action movie with all the trimmings! Perfect from start to finish! Buy the DVD now! - and it DIDN'T make Alien entirely pointless!

I liked this one the most of all the series.

Just took it in a different direction, nice to see Ripley not being chased through a spaceship for 90mins.
She was badass.

It had a lot more of a weird-sexual tone to it, captured Geiger for me.

But that's me, I liked it.
