At first I couldn't remember why I didn't much like it, the story was dumb, yes, but there were plenty of aliens running around, killing dirty space pirates.
Then it got to the bit that made me realise that this film became bloody awful.
Yep, Ripley falls through a hatch, and 'crowd surfs' over some aliens. Then she ends up in a chamber with some bloke in a coocoon of some sort, talking about how Ripleys gift to the Alien queen was a human reproductive system.
We see the big queen alien grunt a bit, then it is born, and I shall name him 'Suckor' - the suckiest alien ever to feature on an Alien film. Hell, no the sucky-most alien ever to feature on anything, ever. Worse than the 'alien' in that fake alien autopsy film that surfaced 5 years ago.
Look at it's human features, those big sad eyes - oh how it sucks!
Look at the maternal bond between Ripley and 'Suckor', look how it rubs it's face around her - how it sucks!
Ironic then, that the 'Suckor' should become the sucked, when it gets sucked out of a hole in the space ship.
To think that a series that came up with face-huggers and stomach-bursters should then create 'Suckor' is a tragedy!
*shakes head*
Suckor, you spoilt this movie.

If that big

THE ALIEN THAT CAME OUT HAD MIXED HUNAN-ALIEN GENES, HENCE THE KINDA HUMAN LOOKING FACE.
Why did the 'suckor' kill the mother, because it thought Ripley
> was it's mother and didn't care much for the thing that it was born from? EXACTLY SPOT ON
Was
> it the mother alien that was in Ripleys chest? YES(from alien 3)
How come she has 'super'

How the heck was that big mother Alien there? I mean

Hmmmm I dont know a lot do I. :-)

>My Dad new I liked gory,
KNEW - not 'new'.
(Fool)
Bah, back to the topic!
Alien 1 - great. So atmospheric and claustrophobic that it worked out perfectly and people still see it as the STILL the best of the series.
Aliens - Superb. The whole macho-marine style actiona was excellent and added greatly to the suspense of it all.
Alien 3 - Wow! I loved this film as much as all the others. To me, it lived up to what it had to live up to and POSSIBLY overtaken Alien for all-round greatness! I loved the distinct characteristics each and every one of the prisoners portrayed - simply smashing.
Alien Ressurection - Good. I must say, and I admit, that it was slightly 'out of touch' with it's superior predecessors, and like what Mr Nice Gyuy said, it had a lot to live up to. However, I don't agree with Meka about the film being a complete and utter flop when it came to the point the film introduced Suckor, instead a whole new picture and scene was set that, umm, kind of captivated me slightly; so much so, in fact, that I felt sorry for poor old Suckor when (ironically), the new-born lost it's life. It was a shame, all it wanted to do was be with it's mummy :-(
;O)
Still, Aliens has to be my number 1 candidate for being the best action/thriller in the Alien/Fantasy genre (if that's how YOU would describe the film's genre!? :D)
Heh, before I go off to bed, I'd like to tell you all how I ended up watching Alien for the first time.
My Dad new I liked gory, exciting films, you see, and so he set-up Alien downstairs, closed the curtains and turned the volume up to almost full! He left me alone on the house while he went shopping with my sister for new school shoes (Like I'd be seen trotting around after my sister for 2 hours looking at some tarty school shoes! ;0D) Yes, I was left alone, in a dark room, at the age of 9 watching what had to be (at the time) the scariest film out. And was I weeing myself? Well actually...no, not quite; instead I was rather frightened and my sense of hearing had doubled when being left alone for so long.
Well that's my little story, and I think you can predict what I'm about to ask here, can't you? Yep: Where did all you happy folks watch Alien? Hmm? How, eh? EH?
SHOCKY!
If that big thing was the mother Alien what was that 'suckor' that came out of it? Just a normal alien?

Didn't 'Suckor' look like Mummra though.
I'm glad others are now calling it 'Suckor'.
As far as how it compares to the rest of the series, it's not a patch on Aliens in terms of action, but there was enough.
Alien 3 was hardly memorable, it seemed like it was trying to recapture the mood of the original, with the single alien, and all of that creeping around, but it was somehow lacking.
Alien 5 needs to be really, really special.
However that 'Suckor' alien was appalling - ruined the film for me!!
Good film but not a patch on the others!!
Jaws 3=Merd
Alien 3=More merd
Friday the what? How many numbers did you say? =Merd
Halloween ' '=Merd
Plus the rest
And ladies and gentleman Alien 5 is in production and Weaver got a stagering $15,000,000 to do it. The though of Alien 5 makes you shiver in fear...
