Who here is worried they might pick the wrong console in the next year or so? I am. And i'm sure anyone who wasted good money on a dreamcast will be very careful about what they buy ANYWHERE.
I have a PS2 but frankly the games (except GT3) have been pants. Sony think they can mess about because the playstation (original) was so good, but we will be the ones who suffer. Original PSX launch games : Destruction derby, Ridge racer, Wipeout. All excellent quality titles, that made their mark.
PS2 launch titles: Timesplitters (mediocre shooter) ridge racer 5 (crap update of ridge racer) tekken tag (tekken 3) and so on. And how dare sony only give PS2 two controller ports!
Crap really. Hopefully they will get it together in the next few months, but who knows? What if Xbox wins because Bill gates buys out the market? What if Nintendo release Pokemon + and wipe out everyone else? we will be sitting at home with £300 coasters, crying our eyes out. In the past console wars were just as bad. Anyone with a saturn or jaguar?
We can only lose out if companies remain so complacent
about the future market and what will happen. Who have thought sony would have made it to the top? or that nintendo would have been humbled into second place by a sony? No one can predict the future so be careful.

The n64 never 'died' like the saturn. It just wasnt as popular. They still make games 4 it ya know.

4 controleers and a multitap works out cheaper than 4 DC pads and 4 rumble packs with SR's prices.

Gamers arent that shallow. I consider myself to have more brains than just buying a machine because money is thrown at it.

The majority of people who can afford a next gen machine arent interested in Pokemon.

I certainly won't be, with Jak and Daxter, MGS2, GT4, Getaway, Kingdom, Final Fantasy......

How about the DC or the N64? Machines with more power and sonic/mario on them, losing out to a 32 bit machine?

The PS2 games to be released before Christmas will definitely be worth buying. I now have a Dreamcast and there are still good games for that too. If you want to wait, pick up a second hand Dreamcast and enjoy it until you can go in a shop and try all three together. See, it is simple really. Either that or buy all of them like so many on this site will do !
News just in... MAX PAYNE FOR PS2! IT IS THE LITERAL SECOND COMING!
oh yes and vottanator, i have had loads of fun with dvd's and quake 3, so i dont feel completlly cheated.
i got timesplitters, quake 3, ZOE, SSX, dead or alive 2 and monkey island.
LOL, i did that, luckily for me though my parents paid half.
