It's been a good day today.

I traded in Madden 2001 and some more old PSone stuff at my local Game store. (Would have done it at SR, but I don't have a local shop!)

They offered me £113 for the lot.

So I got Thunderhawk: Operation Phoenix and Maddeden 2002, plus £35 in gift vouchers.

First time I've ever left computer/games store better off than when I went in. :-)

As I understand it, what you'll get depends on three factors:

1. the age of the game
2. its popularity
3. its condition

All of these determine what the shop feel they can charge for it as a pre-owned title. You won't get much if the game is very old, or if it wasn't a major title the first time around. If the CD is marked, or the manual or box are damaged, then you'll get slightly less still.

What I traded today were:

PS2:
Madden 2001 (£20)

PS1:
Link cable
ASCII Resident Evil controller
Time Crisis + G-Con pack
Ridge Racer 4 + JogCon pack
Fear Effect
V-Rally 2
Point Blank
Driver 2
Syphon Filter 2
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis 2
...and one other game I can't recall at the moment.

The prices they gave me for the PSone items varied from £3 to £15, and I think £15 will be the absolute maximum you'd get for a PSone game now.

PS2 games will obviously get more. I've traded in 3 PS2 titles so far, including Madden 2001 as detailed above. The other two were Shadow of Memories (£20) and Sky Odyssey (£15).

Of course, it also depends on what you've got and where you trade them in.

Hope that helps.

I have 15 games that i would like to get rid of, 2 PS2 games and the rest PS1.

It would be a shame to let the PS1 games go as i have a large collection, but whats the point in having them when they are not played.

Several old game. What pushed it up though was Ridge 4 with the JogCon controller in its original box, and Time Crisis with the lightgun - again in its original box.

All my stuff is/was in mint condition, also.

What's more, they're also starting to sell the Sega Game Gear again, as part of some 'retro' scheme; so they've obviously got some old units from somewhere.

I'm taking mine up next weekend, along with the TV tuner, battery pack, screen magnifier and games; so I wonder how much I'll get for that?!
