But is this game gonna be the canine's crackers or another last minute catastrophe. hopefully our Playstations can go out with a bang?
Lma Has a good history. It is a great game, and the first two were liked by footy fans everywhere. i just claimed the 2001 addition and i am already hooked, despite the fact i only received it yesterday. there is surely no way this can fail, is there?
It will have all the great stats, matches and highlights, as usual. It will almost definitely contain the depth of the last two. And it will probably take up a whole memory card for one save (oh no).
My final wish would be to see the PSone fade in a glorious fashion.
Dreamcast faded cos no one was buying them.
N64 faded cos no one would make any decent games.
And Xbox has faded before it has even come out, due to Bill gates' name on it.
But surely our favourite little grey box, and without a doubt the best console of the last 5 years, deserves to go out in style.
> some how we dont think you can get barbed wire matches
it's only the ropes that are barbed wire. All that happens is if you whip your opponent into the ropes, they just fall over. A bit boring, and you can turn it off on the options screen.
RPGs: Final fantasy 7 and 9 were the mightiest. Breath of Fire 4 was good as well. Broken Sword was amazing, but it's a bit old now. Grandia was good enough.
Action/Adventure: Resi Evil, Dino Crisis and Metal Gear stand among the best. Syphon Filter, Alone in the Dark 4, Silent Hill and Tomb Raider were liked by some, although Tomb Raider gained it's enemies.
FPS: Medal of Honor Underground, Alien resurrection and Quake 2 were are best there.
Football: Without a doubt ISS Pro Evolution 2. LMA Manager 2001 was great and This is Football 2 was a good effort. Can't say much for Fifa though............
Other sport: AK's Smash Court was ok and Brian Lara Cricket was good with a mate.
Puzzle/Party: the best party game was the hilarious, yet disturbing Bishi bashi Special. the best puzzle was the frantic Bust A Move series.
Music sim: Not much competition, so it's got to be Music 2000
Racing: My favourite was Toca World Touring Cars, because of the crashes and damage. GT was too sophisticated for me. Ridge 4 was good. Vanishing Point is worth a look, too. Grand Theft Auto was addictive, but it doesn't really count as racing.
Beat em up: Tekken 3 was the best, although SoulBlade and Dead or Alive were brilliant too. The highly original Kensei went past without many people noticing....shame.
Shoot em up: Time Crisis was alright...... Die Hard trilogy one was ace, but the sequel sucked. Point Blank was good fun.
These are my views. Most people will agree that not one of the games mentioned is completely rubbish.
> you are forgetting Smackdown 2 that was the best game for PS1
I hated it..... It got SOOOO boring and i was finished after just one month, with all the secrets. Barbed wire ropes, Last Man standing, soft mat mode, i had them all.
ISS Evo 2 though is a legend!
