Right, my brother has got a router to get internet for his laptop.

What I want to know is, if I get a Network Adaptor for my PS2, will I be able to somehow hook it up to the internet, even if they are 2 rooms apart.

Enlighten me.

What you actually need is a wireless bridge. However rather than give a technical description of what you need to do and buy. Its better if you just google for something like "wireless gaming adaptor ps2". Several of the larger router manufacturers make products aimed at connecting PS2/Xbox etc. to wireless networks. They basically do it all for you and make it easy.

That's a wireless router so yeah, no idea lol. I'm sure others on here have a wireless setup so they should be able to say how you connect a PS2 Network Adaptor to a wireless router. If they don't reply, try the Sony PS2 forums, the answer is probably on there already.

Thats it.
So, could I put this in the games room, then connect the adaptor to it?
That would be the cooliest.

'Depends'

If it's a wired router it usually connects to the modem provided by your ISP, and then you plug everything you want to have access to the internet (e.g. a PC, a laptop, a PS2 and an XBox) into the back of the router.

If it's a wireless router I haven't a clue, never used one, but it should get rid of the need of having extra wires annoying your mum.

On my setup we've got the host laptop, and XBox 360, a PS2, cable modem and router upstairs, then I've fed a 30ft piece of network cable under the carpets upstairs, across the landing, down the stairs and round the corner into the living room so that the PC downstairs can have internet access too.

No, you see its in a completely seperate room, I doubt it will work if I have to put the cable through my mother's kitchen.:S

Yes, just slap a Sony Network Adaptor into the back of your PS2, plug in the cable provided into the back of the Network Adaptor and the other end of the cable provided into the back of your brother's router. (Most routers have 4 or more spare ports on the back for different things to plug into, so there should be room).

If the cable isn't long enough to get from your Network Adaptor to the router, just pop into any computer shop and ask for a 6-10m length of CAT5 Network Cable. This is the type of cable you need.

The PS2 should do the rest for you, you'll just need to set up your account on the PS2 and so on using the PS2 Network Adaptor disc that comes with the Adaptor.
