I want unbiased, Spec-based judgements. what do you know about them and are they good value?

i have prices on them as:

128MB Geforce 4 Ti4800 -- £117
128MB Radeon 9600 -- £97
128MB Geforce FX5600 -- £117

They are the contenders, now all i want is hard facts - which has the least problems, most efficiency, Least memory restriction etc etc. don't forget i dont want biased judgements. Thank you all kindly, and if it turns out it's a bad choice, i'll hang you all.

OK, right. im putting my foot down - maybe foolishly, but i am.

here are the FINAL candidates.

Geforce 4 Ti4800
Geforce FX 5600

they're both the same price, so which one is better, the Faster, the more compatible, the better looking?

I've looked it up, and i've found a few more, so it just makes it into the nominations.

Updated list.

will it be:

Geforce 4 Ti4800 £117
Radeon 9600 £97
Geforce FX5600 £117
Radeon 9500 £124
Asus 128Mb FX5600 £123

does that make it any easier?

although i'm getting closer to a final choice, one question. IS the Geforce 4 Ti4800 SLOWER or FASTER than the Geforce FX5600.

The 4800 IS faster than the R9600 pro without AA and AF BUT it is indeed slower than the R9500 pro so if you dont want AA and AF plus Direct X 9 compatability then the 4800 is probably the card you should get unless you can afford anything higher.

yeah, i mean i'd love to use AA if it had enough power available, but it's not a big deal seeing as my Gf2 cant do AA very fast anyway...

so far i've found out no clear winner here, but i hear remarks like "slower than the 9500" and "compared to previous version". could i kindly request that the only names we use here are the ones listed in the original topic, as they are the ONLY three i'm considering.

I'm not sure even though the R9600 is slower it might be better to get it if you want Direct X9 compatability, AA and AF compared to the FX5600.
But if you dont mind Direct X8 compatability and do not want to use AA and AF the 4800 is the one to go for.
But i will look around for more reviews and comparisons and let you know.. after wimbledon!

the difference is that the 9800 pro is Radeon's pride and joy at the moment, so it will cost more to get the cream of the crop.

*semi hijacks topic*

Could anyone tell me the difference between a Radeon 9800 and Radeon 9800 PRO ? And is the difference worth about £120 in price ?

I know stuff all about PCs and I've searched on Google for the info but no one seems to know...
