I was just flicking through the news articles on this site, as one does in the morning, I read about the celebrity voices in SSX Tricky and the new colours of the PS2, etc.
Then, to my horror, I read a headline announcing "Fred Durst appearing in Smackdown 3".
NOOOO, I thought. WWF is nothing if not commercial, but surely this is going too far! How can you do this, this is blatant "selling out" to increase sales figures.

When you can accuse WWF of selling out, its got to be pretty bad.
But then I read through the article and suddenly my feelings began to change.
Firstly I was taken back to my earlier days of gaming and the secret characters on "NBA Jam". Fond and ammusing memories of the unstopable duo of Bill and George Clinton flooded my mind, it even had the Beasty Boys on it.
But then no, I thought again, thats not the same. Bill Clinton playing basketball was funny and the Beasty Boys weren't exactly huge at the time of NBA Jams release, big but not in the here today gone tomorrow world of hype and hugeness that Fred Durst currently resides.

Having Fred Durst in your game is just plain selling out!
But then I read on some more and that News Monkey pointed out the intense good side to this selling out, the ability to beat Fred Durst senseless! Suddenly it seems like the perfect thing to bring to the game.

Wrestling games have always been good for expelling anger and frustration at the poor day you've had or dreary life your stuck in. But now you can take it out on those who REALLY deserve it!

Goodluck with getting Jamie Oliver included! Perhaps we could also push for "Kilroy" to be included, but that might not have the global appeal they'll be looking for!

I was thinking about getting it and now I have the opputunity to beat Fred Durst's smarmy head in, I might just do it!
Still, I can't help thinkign that there's just something wrong with Fred Durst appearing in it.

George Clinton, fine established artist with immense comedy value, the same (kind of) with the Beasty Boys.
But Fred Durst is a bit too... short term. He's big now, he will improve sales but, other than that he doesn't serve any purpose. What right has he to be in it (apart from the whol Undetaker thing).

So just to let you know, I will purchase the game then beat Fred Durst down with a chair in objection to him being in it in the first place!

I was always going to get this game, but now there can be no doubting it. I will create a wrestler that looks like Lemmie and beat Dursts head against as many 'foreign objects' as is possible.

Well, while I admit I did dress it up in a world of mystery and intrigue, i have to admit that it is more straight forward than it may first have seemed...

The PS2, see, is being released, with me so far? in a variety of different colours!

Including red, silver, blue, white and yellow!
