I think this game has the potential to be the best game to come from the horror genre yet. I know little actually detail about the game itself, but have seen some of the concept art, which gives a good idea of the 'horror' look of the game.
Your usual run of the mill horror game involves many known enemies jumping out in front of you in an attempt to startle you. Mostly zombies, in their hundreds wandering the streets trying to eat your brains.
The one thing that struck me about The Thing movie was that there was only ever one enemy. The only question was 'who?' given the thing's ability to take the body of anyone or anything.
If the game can capture just an ounce of the sense of paranoia and mistrust of the movie, then we could be in for a real treat. What would you do in a game in which you were facing an alien, and any one of your co-workers could be it?
Of course there's always the fear that it's just The Thing name with no features of the movie involved, maybe there will be many, many Things, and you'll just run around shooting them. But I hope not, I can really see something amazing here if Konami can get it right!
I just hope they can pull it off. What a classic movie, I'm getting that on DVD at lunchtime then.
Cheers for reminding me
