Sony have just bought a 19% share of Square Co, who are in deep financial troubles are loosing million of dollars on the Final Fantasy film. While an exclusivity deal isn't guaranteed, Sony will have a huge amount of control in the firm.

GBA titles, in theory, could go ahead as the GBA isn't a direct competitor to Sony. However, as Nintendo pretty much insist GBA developers must game GC games too, there could be a problem. And we know Yamuchi won't bend over backwards to help Square.

Now Sony have their foot in the door there could be further stock purchases. At the end of the day though - does anyone care? The last two Fianl Fantasy games were damp squibs anyway...

I couldn't care less if Final Fantasy games were no more, although I'd have to put up with Seifer's depressed sobs.

Nah, I'd have to agree with most fo you out there, FF games are pretty poor.

i never have played a final fantasy game unless you count that crap demo i was given by some mag. why are sony wasting their money on other things than me?

This could be a plus point for the attractiveness of the PS2.

i didn't like any of them at all,they had too many.
