I did chuckle over this though...
"Pioneer A05 DVD Re-Writer
Now Only £164.99 - down £125
Awesome DVD writer for PC, it's never been cheaper to buy one!"
Funny how I just bought one from another site a couple of weeks ago for £99 inc. VAT then. Brand new, too! :-) Also got 50 branded DVD-R's with it for less than £164.99.
Mind you, that was a bare OEM unit. Still, they now have the retail boxed unit at £139.99
That same site is now doing the new 106/A06 (bare OEM) for £138.90, or retail boxed for £189.99
Still some way to go on the hardware prices, SR. Glad to see the software has come down a bit, though.
But to do really well you have to compete across the board. I often buy several things all at once, as opposed to managing to save £2 or whatever. But if SRs prices on some things are to high then I would only buy some things from them. If that makes sense. Well it does in my head.

Their games prices tend to be reasonable, but still more than the competitiors by a few pounds, and this is acceptable enough, I suppose, but their PC hardware prices are ludicrous.
AthlonXP 2400+ from SR: £89.99
From 'somewhere else': £58.75
The fact that from SR a 2200+ is £79.99 just makes this more insane, then you can factor in that from the other site a 2600+ costs £72.85
Ridiculous, frankly. Other stuff like graphics cards and RAM prices are undercut quite significantly by other sites too.
> Woohoo, Wookiee got his DVD writer from the same place as me ;)
Indeed I did! You posted the URL just in time, as I was about to buy from another place at around £138.
Have a virtual beer on me!
Yes, I *am* a dirty freeloader.
I didnt renew my membership when it expired last year becasue the prices are stupidly high.
One example, would be burnout 2 on the GC. £36.99(+whatever postage) compared to £28.99 on play.com (free delivery)
And the comic book guy isn't gay...

Worst comment ever.
You sound like the gay fat guy off the simpsons.

DVD-R's?
