*Before you say anything, this was directly copied from the news bit on SR - I thought it would be good of we could just drool over it a bit - mind your screens, though:-)*

Pro Evolution Soccer will use player data from the Championship Manager series, in a surprise joint effort.
Arguably the two greatest games to ever feature the old onion bag, Championship Manager '02 on PC and Pro Evolution Soccer on PS2 are joining forces. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer will make full use of the player database used in Champ Manager '02, meaning more accurate player stats, and infinitely better gameplay - each player will be scarily modeled on its real-life counterpart. David Beckham will be a thong-wearing idiot, Patrick Viera will be a back-stabbing cad and Luke Chadwick will just be very, very ugly.

The move has surprised the industry, and came about after both companies expressed interests in each other's work. "Anyone who's been to the Sports Interactive office will know what massive Pro Evolution Soccer fans we are." boasted the CM fiends, while Konami were equally gracious, claiming "Sports Interactive's library of player and team data is hugely impressive and the most comprehensive we have seen in the football games market."

Although it may sound as convincing as those washing machine adverts that recommend Bold washing powder, it's actually quite an interesting move. Look a few years into the future and you might have a mixture of the two games - a PC management title in which you get to play the game and direct your team in real-time. Or how about a PS2 game with the quality of Pro Evolution Soccer, but with the management options of the Championship Manager series. Blimey. That's almost too tantalising a prospect to comprehend. In fact, I think I'm going to faint... Nope, I'm okay.

Pro Evolution Soccer hits the PS2 on November 16th, so get your order in now by clicking here. Championship Manager '02 hits the PC next Friday, so to avoid massive and crushing disappointment, pre-order your copy now . DO IT!

*All of the text between the texts with *s (by me) is the good, hard-work of SR and I have nothing to do with it. Is anyone completely in awe at this news? Come on Footy fans, the best football game ever working with the best PC Football manager game ever is very interesting, is it not? :D Is it me, or will Pro Evo totally whip the pants off the crud Fifa series?*

Shocky.
