Jack Straw is putting forward a new law for religion:
any criticism of religion will be an offense and people can be prosecuted.

but this may give people a chance to create religious cults

In my mind we should get rid of religion FOREVER!

seriously Aid workers have been accompanied by 'missionaries' for ages who try and convert them

By Pagan I mean god of the sun, moon and that lot
Easter= hot cross buns and eggs are pagan traditions

Halloween= was a night when all the evil spirits came out

Christmas= was nowhere near the time jesus was born and was put over the festival of the sun.

those are the pagan festivals that were changed to cristian ones
so :P

Perhaps, but have you read the New Testement?? Have you read all the miracles Jesus performed??

>also it is weird that all the religions started in the middle East

Does it really matter?

One more thing all the christian festivals are Pagan
> festivals with different names

You what? From what I know, a pagan festival is something that celebrates false religious teachings. But in my opinion, Christian teachings aren't false! Perhaps not in yours, but in mine.

>Some people need something to believe in, ok I accept that BUT it should be a private thing we should NEVER try and convert someone unless their current religion will endanger them. We have been going over to the east for years trying to convert and change them, no wonder they hate us. And i stand by the fact that religion does more bad than good

Have we really been trying to convert them?? I wouldn't say that. With the Afghanistans, America helped get rid of the Russians (I think,) and then left them to it, which has led to this. I hope they don't make this mistake again.

I agree there. I have no problem with people who aren't Christians-I mean, most of my friends aren't. Of course, I wish they were Christians, and I will try and help them to become one, but I can't make them do it. It's there choice if they want to believe or not, not mine.

So thank you for respecting my opinions, I hope I can do the same for all of you.

Some would say America did start it with their relentless interference in the middle east.

Tony Blair & George W. Bush

I agree. A true Christian does not kill or authorize killing. They are phoney.

But anyway, I don't care anymore. I'm a Christian and I

Just for the record, I think Jesus Christ is one of the greatest men to have ever lived. I just don't think he was the Son of God that's all. I just don't like when people claim use terms like "Just war" - murder is murder, pure and simple.

Hardly any of them are Christians anyway??

The USA, a predominately Christian country, is waging war right now.

Ah, but did they start it?? And less than half the country are proper Christians I would say, and I'm not really sure what else they can do. They tried the nice approach, by asking them for Bin Laden, but it failed.

Tony Blair & George W. Bush both claim to be Christians.

Well, they certainly don't act it. I bet they don't pray at least once every day.

But anyway, I don't care anymore. I'm a Christian and I know that God is always with me, and that's all that counts for me. None of this is his fault, he gave us the guidelines, but obviously most of us are ignoring them. Our fault.

Be that as it may, I'd tend to agree. If not for

>Sorry, Ant.

Perhaps, but that's Muslim. Islam. Whatever. I agree that religion causes problems, mostly thanks to twonks who believe that their 'God' is telling them to kill the western side of the World.

Maybe some religions should be banned or whatever. But you don't see Christians having huge wars, or claiming that God is telling them to kill people. We are a peaceful religion, or supposed to be anyway.

And if their was no religion, what would everyone believe in?? What would we all aim for? If there was no religion, I expect there would be more people going around commiting crimes. Well, in mostly civilised countries like the UK anyway. I know personally that religion (Christianity mainly,) has turned people's lives around for the better.

Can I also say that muslim or whatever it is the Taliban believe in is a complete farce. I mean, they sit there, nodding all the time for no apparent reason when reading their holy book, they believe that women should be completely covered up and not be able to be educated or get a job. I mean, it's just a load of tosh really.
