Overall a good score, but surprisingly not as high as Kirby's Air Ride, which received 34 points in last week’s edition of Famitsu.
Funny how GC has hardly any decent racing games (a couple of exceptions) and then we suddenly get MK, Fzero and Kirby.
Here's the review...

"First, the high-speed movement experienced when using the in-game 'boost' is an unparalled experience that absolutely cannot be felt with a standard racing game. Furthermore, the advanced graphics double the enjoyment obtained from the game, and the level of customization offered is also deep. The background story provided on Falcon & co. is something not to be missed either! Too much here to enjoy!"

"The sense of control in this game is old-school F-ZERO through and through. However, the full utilization of 3-D environments here gives the series a different feel. On the other hand, the objectives put forth in the Story Mode are considerably difficult. Furthermore, there are limits on when attack-style actions can be effectively used."

"In a word, stoic. The sense of the game's speed paralyzing you is unbeatable. Another plus point is the inclusion of a variety of stages to race through. What really did it for me though is the ability to run freely though the fantastical courses, which allows you to experience how awesome they really are."
Haneda: 8
"First off, the richly-colored courses are a feast for the eyes, as are the high-quality CG movies. However, the all-around difficulty level of the game is high, and anybody trying to get through the Story Mode will more than likely find themselves struggling. Similar to horse racing, you'll find yourself behind until near the end of the race, where you'll need to burst of speed to overtake those in front of you. This and other styles of play unique to this game will require mastering. Only question: why is the control scheme different from the existing arcade version?"
Come on swear filter.

Interesting, gamecentral said they were on the same button. Pressing when you got to a corner to slow down, and then pressing once round the corner to speed up.
Kirby just constantly goes forward, not sure if there's anyway of controlling how fast you go though.
Looks excellent though.
