The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Aren't they meant to be a collection of ideas rather than chatting places.
The regulars normally treat them right, and the more sensible newbies do but many newbies who don't know the site so well do mess them up a bit.
I'm thinking that they should probably go the same way as Prime and be made so that only Regulars/Notables can post.
I understand that some newbies do wish to use them properly but I'm sure they can make do by putting ideas and stories in FoG chat until they attain a purple name.
That's my thoughts on the situation.
What does everyone else think?

I think that if people specify that they don't want any replies while they make "part 2" then others will leave the topic alone.
Other than that, if SR want to be really clever, they could make an option box next to the "post message" button so if they choose, the original poster will be the only one able to reply.
Ofcourse, it would have to be defaulted so it's "any one can reply" until changed.
It would also have to be to the right of or underneath the "post" button so when you press tab, it'll go to the "post" button rather than the "can they reply?" option.
I suppose SR are having a hage board meeting about it as we speak...
