When I bought the N64 I bought it to play the games that I'd heard so much about, not to say, 'the N64 is the best'.
People have created consoles for us to enjoy not to argue with, Ninendo make astounding games and so did Sony (they've been taken over) although personaly I'd go with Nintendo, it dosen't mean I go round hurting people 'cause they like Sony or Sega, I go with Nintendo because I like the games they make such as, Goldeneye, Banjo-Kazooie, Turok 1,2and3, Perfect Dark and many more, but there's one thing that makes -in my view- Nintendo special, because I don't have Perfect Dark, (I'm trying to win it) and I know It's such a great game due to screenshots in magazines. I was looking through a Playstation magazine and I came across a review saying about this game that they said was great and it had some screenshots and I couldn't see if I thought it was great or not so I'm not saying anything, but somehow I knew Perfect Dark was great because of the screenshots. Because of my tital I'm not going into Console wars but I still think Nintendo is better, personaly.
So why dosen't everyone pack it in with Console Wars and be happy with the consoles them selves.

Games are indeed there for us to enjoy, no matter how we go about it, nor on what machine we do it. It's perhaps the nature of the business that people invariably feel the need to justify their purchase, but that doesn't make it any less unproductive an attitude to take.
If games were produced on a single format, then we wouldn't see all this, but they aren't and so we ought to ask ourselves why we bought the console we did in the first place. I personally own a PSX, a DC, an N64 and a GBA - but I prefer my N64 by a long shot. Now, nobody can accuse me of hating Sega or Sony because I've forked out a substantial amount of money for their products. So why do I still like my N64 more?
The answer is simple. I believe that Nintendo make - and encourage others to make - the best games for their format(s), and so as a consumer it makes buying the N64 the most sensible thing to do. I don't automatically 'hate' Sega or Sony - it's just that I find their competitor produces superior products. And that is undoubtedly going to really flame someone up, but it makes absolute, perfect, logical sense and what's more, the very fact that I own and frequently use my other consoles proves that I am in no way biased.
I look forward to many an illogical and wholly abusive reply.
