For any fans who have signed up to the VIP 24/7 things on nintendo.co.uk can now buy Wii Points cards in the stars catalogue with the now obselete stars which you have saved up.

Head over there now to get yours. They'll last a while, but there's a limited amount, so head over there quick and grab yours.

I personally have always been a Nintendo fan but seem to have gone off consoles for the moment and am playing more games on my PC, so I don't have a Wii and am not actually interested, but I still use the site, checking back to see if the catalogue has been updated with anything worthwhile.

So, just to let you know, you can buy Wii Points with you old stars if you have saved up enough.

That is all.

At a very odd price of 879 stars or whatever it was. Now you have an odd number of stars, because everything costs a multiple of 10.

Plus, only 1000 points for that many stars? Crikey!

Dear Nintendo fan,

We recently sent you an email regarding your purchase of Wii Points in the Stars
Catalogue. As this happened during a testing phase and this item was actually
not available in the Stars Catalogue, we would now like to offer you a choice
between receiving 1000 Wii Points, or getting back the 789 Stars you spent.

Please click http://mailing.nintendo-europe.com/re?l=evuvibIfxl9l8I0 to log in
with your Club Nintendo website account, and make your choice.

Best regards,

Your Nintendo team

I'm not sure how much a 100 point card costs in the shops, but I've got a feeling that 879 stars or whatever it was is very very expensive when you consider how many things you have to buy to get that many stars in the first place! I think I would have preferred the refund, then I could spend the stars on something at the next update, whenever that may be.

I don't have a Wii though, which is why I didn't spend my stars on the points.

Well, it was worth it, unless it turns out 768 points was too much for 1000 wii points it when they finally get the system working it's less less than 768 to buy.

got this just now

Dear Nintendo fan,

Last Friday we have been running internal tests in the Stars Catalogue on our
website. Unfortunately, because of a mistake during the testing phase, the Wii
Points item accidentally appeared on the website between 4pm and 8pm.

We noticed that you have accessed the Stars Catalogue during this testing
period, and that you spent 789 Stars on the item, without getting any Wii Points
in return.

First of all, we want to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This item is not available in the Stars Catalogue, and the price of 789 stars
used during the testing period was entirely random.

However, we understand that this may have caused a disappointment. So, as we
know how committed you are to Nintendo - and given the exceptional circumstances
- we decided to electronically send you 1000 Wii points, if you'd like that. In
case you do not want to get these Wii Points, we will of course reimburse the
amount of Stars you spent.

Please allow us some time to properly prepare the opportunity for you to choose
between Wii Points or Stars. You will receive a follow-up email from us soon,
so please keep an eye on your inbox.

Thanks again for your understanding,

Best regards,
Your Nintendo team

Got an email from Blastradius (apparently the company that deals with Nintendo rewards and builds their websites). Still, it looks dodgy.
