why do games come out on platinum. theyre more expensive, no different and to me seem to be a way of reintroducing the game for more money.

so whats the point?

They're cheaper. First they come out at £39,99, and then Platinum re-releases them at £19.99 if they sell well.

Plus, many people only want it when it's cheaper, or they don't have the money to buy it at full price at launch.

I think it's a great idea.

yes. so the fact that i can buy a game (a new original one) for two pounds cheaper than the platinum version makes sence does it. prices drop over time. why dont they just tag a sticker on?

He is right in a way, I bought GTA 3 on non platinum brand new for £14.99 and it would of cost me 20 on platinum.

I think that's an exceptional circumstance to be honest.

And CC, I know what ya mean. got GTA3 for that price too at ASDA oddly enough. But again, exception.

Ratchet and Clank is still £40, but it goes Platinum soon, as is Kingdom Hearts.

GAME?

I took their prices as they are the biggest retailer, so most 'casual' gamers will shop there.

Though most online places are still £30, and when they release it on Platinum it'll still be £15-19, so both are roughly halved in price in proportion, (40-20 in 'real life', 30-17 online)

see there is reason for my post. when i saw the pricing thing i mentioned before i thought, whats the point? and col and phuzzy have found another case. what happens to the originals price when the plat comes out? again why not a sticker or just a reduction in price?
