When you buy an RPG or Adventure game mainly, do any of you read it to get information on the characters. In many games manuals they have some background information on the people in the game, are the writers wasting there time or do any of you read them?

What's even funnier...

Wait until the dinosaur runs at you and pull out a bomb.

(Hold C down). While the bomb is your hands, the monster will turn and tail it.

Then you can wait for the fuse to go down a bit and throw it.

The dinosaur will get hurt and then come after you again.

You pull out another bomb and repeat.

You'll soon be left with your last bomb.
You'll be eaten without it.
So instead of throwing it, hold it and chase the dinosaur.

You'll get blown up (very messy, lol) and regenerate with full bombs, full health and not points conceded.

I normally win by killing the raptors.

you didn't! they're funny if you get eaten, I think? that games really hard, especially when playing against a mate, stealing the eggs is easy but running away with one isn't a walk in the park.

Sport games definatly need maunual help, basketball games take the buiskit, although the moves can be worked out quite easily.

I either look at the manual either in the car, on the way home or after I've had a few goes.

It normally tells you a few moves/options you didn't work out yourself.

Take the Raptor multiplayer on CBFD...

I never new those little cavemen were carrying such huge bombs that could be brought up with a tap of C down.

AH! I did this topic last week.

my answer is STILL no, manuals don't tell you anything unless you need it for Civilisation or something that has a code and the password in in some text, hmm, that happened with my battle chess game (classic)

I never read the manual before I play the game that's just stupid, I occasionally read the stuff about chracters etc, if it's a really involving storyline.

I usually play on the game, get confused, read the manual, and play away (hopefully well this time!).

I always take a look at the manuals so as to see if I can find any tips and to read the storyline so I can understand the principles of the game more.

I hate the fact that PC game manuals are now coming only on the disc and not in a hard copy format. I hate having to install 6 different versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader then having to uninstall them all again after it crases trying to open the manuals.
