The N64 had a giant advantage in multiplayer, the Playstation had better range of single player games (as bigger cd's allowed bigger adventures)
Sony had a chance to gain some ground by producing a multiplayer facility that was nearly as good, but refused.
Big mess up.
As a result, most of it's owners won't bother with multiplayer and when the Gamecube comes out, specially marketed as a multiplayer machine, it's going to have an extra quality that the PS2 lacks.
Something to buy a multitap for.
Whatever console, it looks like a great game!! And one that I will probably purchase!!
> Well im off to have a go on a GAmecube, wahooooo I will let you know what Monkey
> Ball plays like when I get back.
Thank god for friendly import shops.
Hmm im kinda annoyed now, I didn't get too play it, I got to watch hords of acme ridden teenagers playing on it. I stood for an hour waiting for a go, but still no luck. One thing I will say though is, HOW GOOD DOES LUIGIS MANSION LOOK. I wasn't intrested in this title at first, but OH MY GOD it looks damn damn damn good. Wave Race looked preety impressive as well, didn't get too see Monkey Ball unfortunately.
Another thing the controller, it shocked me its a lot smaller than I thought it was gonna be. Didn't get to hold the frickin thing but intend on getting a go tommorow, early start me thinks.
:D
But it looks really inventive and original. Instead of actually moving the monkey about like a car, you move the whole arena to tilt the monkey in the right direction, meaning it will be a lot harder than you first imagined it to be.
It's also jam-packed full of mad multiplayer options, extra challeges for you to try and the prospect of secret multiplayer options if you complete them.
It looks a real stunner, but don't forget about the rest of the line-up for Gamecube, as it would be likely that they will be better than this.
Shocky.
