Having an issue with my PlayStation 2 screen psoition

Connected with the official Sony SCARt lead, and firstly, the screen is very narrow - even when i set it to full screen, there are black bars top and bottom. Also - the screen seems to be about an inch too far to the left, as everything seems off centre, and there is a big black line down the left hand side of the screen.

Now - when I play a DVD, everything's fine - and some PS 2 games are ok, the line goes away - but othrs, like GT 3, the line is still there - I have to go in to the Options and reposition the screen as far left as I can.

Anyone else having this issue? Is my PS 2 faulty??

it is called all the PAL sony games run at 50hz forcing the machine to produce borders so the picture doesn't screw up,
just as a note DC games can be run at 60hz and we get no probs at all hahaha

You tried it on another TV?

I'm getting it when I first turn the PS 2 on! Even the startup screen is narrow, and as if it's been shifted off to the left!!!

Should I just take it back, or ring Sony?

somthins dodgy, i never noticed this.

Well you tend to get black borders on some PAL titles like Ridge Racer v, Onimusha or Resi Evil. I am not sure about the other things that are troubling you
