The zelda bonus disk is pretty good. Its teh first time nintendo have ever done anything like this but you certainly get your moneys worth. The two game idea is a bit rubbish as they are practically identicle but the whole package is still good. Throwing in a few movies and clips, now tahts teh spirit nintendo. Thats the thing that is going to make people buy the games and keep fans loyal. I hope we see more of the same stuff coming alongside the likes of any big future titles. a copy of mario kart 64 along with double dash would have been a diamond package!

The movies on the disc are pretty rubbish but still it gives you a look at the likes of 1080 and f zero. I say keep em coming...

Sorry if it seemed that way. I aren't getting at you it was just the idea didn't appeal to me. I am not saying no to bonus disks but as I said I would prefer they spent more time on the actual game rather than on a bonus disk which may be looked at a couple of times.

Rogue Leader 3 is going to unclude all of Rogue Leader 2 with a new multi player mode. Every now and again its nice to see a Bonus disk but for the very few times the disks would be used it wouldn't matter to me if they didn't bother with them all together.

Stop trying to find fault? So you want everyone to reply saying that its an amazing idea and how right you are? I am allowed my say on the matter and quite frankly I would rather more was pooled into the actual games rather than titles which you have played numerous times before. N64 + 2 Controllers + Memory Card + Golden Eye all for £19.99 on EBay. If you want to play those games its not exactly great bucks to go back and pick up some of you favourite Nintendo titles.

As for the VIP codes. I would imagine that it purely the promotion side of Nintendo rather than the development side. The bonus disk would need more hands on and it would need to be handled by the development team. The VIP codes will be handled by a totally different area of Nintendo and thats why it doesn't really take up anytime from the development of a game.

I think the only two games i have with bonus discs are Zelda and MGS2 sons of liberty on the PS2.

And i've never watched/played either of them.

I disagree. Although i agree the SNES version is still amazing, I've been playing the 64 version for the last couple of weeks with my bro and its still great fun. Boring on your own but great doing mario grand prix two player.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! with MK 64.
Mario 128 with Mario 64
F-Zero GX with F-Zero X

That would rule muchly muchly. Too bad it didn't / won't happen.

Im not saying they should concentrate on churning out bonus disks. They dont take that much to make anyway. Just throw a port on to a disk and there you have it. In my opinion mario kart 64 is a legendary mulitplayer game and along with goldeneye is the best multiplayer of all time.

I would much rather have a bonus disk with movies and free games on than a few crappy stars that i can trade in for a screensaver!

stop trying to find fault alastair!

What keeps the fans loyal is the fact that Nintendo are the best games developers in the world that very rarely/never let the public down with a poor quality title. Bonus disks are nice here and there but to be honest I haven't even looked at mine apart from the F ZERO and 1080 movies as reverting back to the old style of Zelda isn't really all that appealing after playing the fantastic Wind Waker.

I played Mari Kart a few months a go and the game looked and played dated. It was strange because the original Snez Mario Kart is still highly enjoyable and fun. The 64 version was very good at the time (and still is in many respects) however unlike some titles it has aged a little too quickly and it won't be a great surprise/shock if they do plan a bundle with Double Dash.

I would much rather Nintendo pooled resources into new ideas and originality rather than concentrating on odd bonus disk here and there.
