This is probably really easy to do....but I havn't got a clue!

How do you copy information from one computer to another without using disk's, cd's or email?
Basicly, I've got a large program on this computer and I want to put them on my computer at home. Is there an easy way I can connect the two computers and transfer the information?

Somebody please help me it's driving me crazy!

Cheers,
Ell.

Wow! It's not all that easy to do then...I thought it would just be a matter of connecting a cable between the two computers!

So basicly it would be best (cheaper) to get an External USB Hard Drive, so what sort of price are they these days and are they easy to connect for a simpleton like myself?

Cheers for your help guys.

A LAN is a Local Area Network. Like djerrud said you will need a couple of network cards and if one of the PC's isn't very user friendly you may have trouble installing a Network card on it.

It would be cheaper to get an External USB Hard Drive, as then you don't have to go through the rigamorale of setting up a Local Area Network (LAN), which is basically connecting two computers together, like a mini internet.

Cheers for your quick response Alastair.

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge but what's a LAN, how do I get one and more importantly how many arms and legs will it cost me?

Thanks,
Ell.

Networking is probably a god option, but you'll need two network cards and the computer that's messed up needs to be able to accept new hardware, so if, for instance, it doesn't start properly, you're going to have a huge problem.
Using an external CDR drive is a good idea as well, or even better, an external USB hard drive. Usefl things, those.

You would be better asking in the PC Forum for this one.

You could try networking them togather across a LAN or something like that. The most sensible approach would be to borrow someones external CD writer and copy the data that way.
