Just got an e-mail from Nintendo and they are changing their stars catalogue and actually putting in proper prizes, likes games and accesories. Not bad from Nintendo eh? They'll probably cost lots of Stars but I've been saving up :)

How do you know when your Stars are going to expire?? I've had my one's since the gamecube launched on May 3rd!!
Yeah, its about darn time. I have 3600 stars which are due to expire shortly and I aint going to waste them on screensavers.

I got the email too. A nice surprise, yet a very annoying one to those who spent 600 stars on screen savers :P
