With a slight difference this time.

I was just wondering what perspective all you GT3 gamers out there played on; First person or Third person?

I personally play on third person mode, chiefly because I like to see my shiny car as I'm zooming along.

So which and why?

3rd person, and starting to use manual gears, with TCS and anto spin turned off.

the wookie obviously likes it the hard way, but its the most satisfying way to drive, especially with the polyphony cars.

I turned the anti spin off because it's feels more realistic without it and diabled 3 annoying tunes :-D

I usually qualify to get a good position, gives a chance to pratice too :-)

Manual transmission is the only way to go, I can generally shave at least a second off any lap time I put up using automatic transmission (except the test circuit maybe). Couple of other things as well:

Have you adjusted the game settings, or left them as default?

Do you bother to qualify?

Answering my own questions; Yes I've adjusted the game settings to make it as difficult as possible, no steering help here thanks very much!

I almost always qualify, particularly for the endurance races or the professional series races. It gives me a good idea on how competitive the race will be, I prefer to tweak my car settings to get a good match with the AI cars, rather than just blow them away with bhp.

I was, but something came up today - potential bad news - so it's taken the edge off a bit.

I don`t use manual on games like TimeSplitters, or Tekken etc... but try to in most racing games.

I use first person all the time, I find the pretty visuals in third person detour my eyes from the road :-D

As for gears I always use manual, not only on GT3 but everything even ridge racer :-)

I use first person view always, as it allows a greater amount of accuracy in judgement. To truly master a course you`d have to use it, no question.

As for Manual/Automatic. I use manual if I`m really confident, but usually automatic if I`m in a tough competition where I just want to concentrate on racing.

Looking forward to Farscape Wookiee? Something about Brain Sucking Aliens in "Eat Me". Supposed to be funny. (Hopefully similar to Crackers Don`t Matter, and Won`t Get Fooled Again)

And while we're at it... manual transmission, too. Automatic is for wimps! :-)

I don't think I've played a racing game in 3rd person since I had to (Outrun or Chase HQ probably), it's definitely 1st person view for me. For the same reasons as most other people, the sensation of speed is far greater.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
