Yes it was the last level that they introduced the flood, flying vehicles, tanks, bigger nastier versions of the covenant and they only varied the level design and objectives on the last level.

yep the first was great then i got same old same old which i could stand for a few more levels. then at last on the last level they did something new, a race against time. oh and while im at it, the ending was pants aswell.

I loved it for all of 1 level then it became the same thing over and over and it went from loved to ok to never played again.
