Go to www.portablemonopoly.com to see pictures of a homemade backlit GBA. It's pretty impressive. The battery life still lasts 10 hours as well.

There was a backlit GBC once. It was revieved in N64 Magazine's GameBoy companion. They said,
"The backlit screen means it won't last long on two AA batteries, so it is less portable with the extra bump for more batteries."

I wonder if Nintendo will ever do something like that for GBA?

gameing boy , in that book from n64 mag , did you see the gameboy light ? i got that from gran canaria , and the battery life sems to last the same to me !! (gameboy light = backlight gameboy pocket !!)

I've never seen a real one, just the picture in the mags book. After seeing that book, I suddenly decided that I wanted to collect every single gameboy that is/was available.

I bought a Gameboy light off e-bay though I haven't tested how long the batteries last.

Ninty did do backlit gameboys in Japan... a gold and silver one with a blue "indigo-watch" style back light.

Oh, and the girl boy was just a pink game biy
