The RPG from the virtual fighter series had seemingly dissapeared... until now.

At the Tokyo Games show at the end of September SEGA will show the missing title as well as 2 exclusive new Gamecube games and 2 GBA ones.

Nice.

Are you taking the pi*s?

Shenmue is the single most dull game ever conceived. FFS, you walk around asking everyone the same sodding sentence because it's so damn crap it doesn't even have dialouge choices. The combat is nothing special and you probably use it about..oh...4 times during the game, although you do have to spend 20 minutes a day standing in an empty car park kicking thin air.

The characters are wooden and advance about as much as Jonny Vegas in a wet t-shirt tournament.

And then you have the nerve to critisce Morrowind's story when you admit yourself to having played nothing of it. Not to mention that Shenmue's graphics are crap and outdated in comparison.

Where as Morrowind gives me vast freedom to do what the hell I like, Shenmue forces me to drive a forklift truck up and down a harbour for 30 minutes of my actual life!

IDIOTS!

Excellent story, great character development. No beardy crap, not dull, plays out like a Kung-Fu film, excellent graphics etc etc

Morrowind was just so dull. The characters in the game were rubbish, the graphics were cruddy, combat was cack, story was cack, beardy content was cack. It was just cack really.

I don't mind slow moving games as long as they're intresting, Morrowind was just dull dull dull.

Shenmue on the other hand is very high up on my list of best games ever.

Both games are an aquired taste, Morrowind just wasn't for me.

I originally completed Shenmue in a day and a half when I borrowed my mates Dreamcast and copy of the game. I then thought it was p00!

But about a year later I bought my own Dreamcast and then bought my own copy of the game to play it again. It was sooooo much better the second time round when I took my time with the game, rather than rush through it like a headless chicken!

Not played Morrowind yet, but want to. Think Morrowind is a free roaming, walk around massive maps in a first person view, smashing up monsters for experiance points n stuff.

maybe...

Shenmue on the other hand, has a great plot and character development. It's like walking round a proper virtual city. The game is massive, and admittely there isn't LOADS of fighting, well until you get to the third disk (well in the Dreamcast version. erm... third town on the Xbox game or sommin').

Take my advice and go buy Shenmue on Xbox NOW!

And watch the Shenmue 1 movie first so you know what's going on!

Not having a go, but why did you get rid of Morrowind yet play Shunmue? What's the appeal of Shenmue over Morrowind?

I'm asking because I might get Shenmue.

Although the demo i briefly played indicated a lot of walking and talking with few fights. How's the character develop for instance?

Well supposedly the next Shenmue is suppose to come out on more consoles other than Xbox! Mainly cos the Xbox is still doing .... in Japan, and so no-one is going to buy it. Thus Sega are looking at the other console to release it on so that they can actually make some money off the most expensive game ever made!

And going that Sega's releases on the Gamecube so far, have proved quite popular and have put Sega into profit for the first time in ages. I personally think a Gamecube version isn't out of the question!

Great news! :D

Ever since I heard this was the game "Shenmue was originally going to be", I've been eager to find out as much as possible on this title.
...But I still know very little. :(

If it's anything like Shenmue (which I've heard it will be, with elements of exploration and that), I'll love it.

Only the announcement of Shenmue III coming to the GameCube could beat this....
