Bargain, or what? Cheap as chips, eh? Get bidding!
Thanks :D
Paypal requires you to register your debit card with them and bank details, so you can get a sellers account. Once registered with them you can accept Paypal, and other Paypal members can pay you with it. Paypal takes 3.4% + 20p from every payment you receive from someone and the rest goes into your paypal account. You can withdraw that money when the total reaches £10 or more, and Paypal charges you 50p to withdraw the money, which then taks 4-5 business days to go into your bank account.
One of the main advantages is that many many people have credit cards, hence they register with Paypal and can buy on eBay using their credit rather than debit or cheques, basically accepting Paypal opens your auctions up to those who only use credit to buy, which is a lot of people in the UK !!
Generally, eBay's own surveys show that items where Paypal is an option to pay will get higher prices than those where it is not an option, and the increased bid price should counter the fees incurred. Another way is to add a small amount to your postage so as to partially cover the costs if someone does pay with Paypal.
Another benefit is you often get paid faster, of the 13 items I sold yesterday I now only have 5 people left to pay. Plus, you can use Paypal money that you have not transferred, to buy Paypal items on eBay with.
Lastly, it really benefits you on high value items and can help send the price spiralling into loony land, many of my most insane final prices were reached by people who paid with Paypal, like £52 for a Beyblade back in February (they cost 5.99 but this was a rare one, so rare I bought 12 from work....)
> Also Mav - Why don't you accept PayPal?
How does it work?
There's wilko's like everywhere - In Beeston/Long Eaton and Nott's.
I wasted 92p buying a stupid envelope at the post office (Size H)
Another secret, if you have a Wilkinson's in town, they sell padded envelopes (perfect for most small items) in packs of 4 for 99p, far cheaper than anywhere else I know of except wholesalers !
I had to fork out an extra £1 for sending one item this morning.
*shakes fist*
