OH WELL!
Now the Playstation has been available for the best part of a year, it has sold many, many units. Many units sold, with little competition. By the time that the Xbox and GAMECUBE have been launched here Sony would have had another Xmas to get more Playstation 2's in homes. The price drop is going to make it very hard for many people to decide to get an Xbox, as it's likely to be £100 more than the other two consoles, and the Playstation2 already has loads of games on shelves. When you walk into the store and see a GAMECUBE and a Playstation2 sitting next to each other, at the same price, which will you buy, the console with 10 or so launch titles, or the one with shelves full of games?
This headstart that Sony have given themselves is just what they needed.
Personally, I'll stick by the 'CUBE, as I can have only 1, as there are more games that will interest me coming to Nintendo's console than there are Sony's, but many are undecided.
