Before I got this game I'd heard mixed opinions about it. Some said it was very poor, others said it was average, others said it was good and a rare few said it was excellent.
I got the game a couple of weeks ago, and it's one of the most fun games I've ever played!!
There are 3 modes. In single player mode, you go through a series of smuggling missions with 5 different gangs. Your first gang is 'The Forgotten'.
In most missions all you have to do is pick up and deliver contraband, while making sure you do it within the time limit, and making sure you don't get arrested by the chasing police.
In a couple of missions you might have to race members of another gang to keep your place, or you team up with other members of your gang, and go against another gang to see who can pick up the most contraband and deliver it home first.
Once you've completed around 10 missions with 1 gang, you go onto the next.
You get to choose from around 35 different vehicles, including buggies, SUVs, Pick-ups, Rally cars and many more, all in the colours of whichever gang you are in.
You can smuggler your goods in the Forest, Desert or the Snow.
In the Forest there are rivers, hills, moutains and trees, along with a few animals and people to run over, and some small towns.
In the desert there's not much apart from...sand, but there are large cliffs and mountains.
In the snow there are a few small villages, lots of hills and lots of snow.
These places are 15 miles long and 15 miles wide, and look brilliant.
As I said above, the graphics are superb. The vehicles and backgrounds are highly detailed, and look very realistic.
The game plays excellently, the controls are easy, and it's fast, furious and fun.
There's also the Joyriding mode, where you can go anywhere and do anything, and the multiplayer mode, where you can choose from different games, and play it in multiplayer as well as single player. You can choose Capture The Flag, as well as the missions I mentioned in Single player.
I would definitely recommend this game to anyone, as it's a lot of fun, and will keep you playing for a long, long time.
Thanks for reading, Ant.
The physics are a joy and even just joyriding is lot of fun.
Anyone who is into driving games should give this a go.
However... I am stuck.
I am on Level 33 and I just cannot get past it.
Has anyone managed it and if so how ?
What vehicle are you using ? Anything I try just gets battered to death by these rally-car cops before I even achive half the objectives.
> Why do you always post your reviews to the forums instead of the reviews
> site...it's not like your word count isn't already high enough!!
As I said a while ago, I'm creating topics on PS2 games where we post our reviews of them here, so others can see what we think of the game without going to UKReviews.
