Oh yes, come to Goatboy.
I loved the attention to detail as well, just standing back after a huge gun fight and looking at all the damage caused, all the bullet holes, empty gun cartridges, exploded cars just utterly pure carnage and some of the most exciting, adrenaline pumping action I've ever encounter in a game.
I might re-install the original now and catch up a little, install a few mods with new weapons and the lobby shootout from the matrix and you have the perfect action game. Roll on October I say.
"The developers are aware of the criticisms about game length (the original could be completed in 10hrs), they assure us that they have concentrated on improving the story in every way possible, and whilst it wont result in a 40hour plus slog, it is dramatically longer than the 1st"
Seems they're getting everything right.
I remember when the 1st came out, I saw no reviews or anything. Just saw it on the shelf and thought "That looks alright"
And to this day it's one of the best action-games I've played.
Something about leaping into a room with duel-Ingrams blasting in bullet-time, flipping onto your back still shooting, taking down 5 NPCs and exiting the move with a roll. Slam the empty mags on the floor and off you go.
Superb game.
Other than HL2 this is the only game I'm desperate to get my hands on, I played the original game to death and it's been a while since I've had a fill of some decent bullet time stylish action. I hope the sequel lasts longer though.
1Ghz PIII/Athlon or 1.2Ghz Celeron/Duron processor

Ouch!! That's gonna hurt. I'm alright but that's a hefty spec.
But still, we're promised the following:
Max Payne's signature slow motion gunplay has been improved on every level. Get ready for Bullet Time 2.0.
New guns and new moves make action more cinematic and intense than ever before.
Fully integrated Havok physics engine allows for interactive environments creating incredible combat scenes. Ragdoll characters and physics in slow motion create breath-taking combat scenes.
All new AI - cooperative NPC's fight with Max and more believable enemies create tension and more interesting and varied challenge.
A stunning level of detail: Extremely detailed environments with photorealistic textures, highly enhanced radiosity lighting and extremely lifelike characters (including facial animations & lip synchronization) provide a visually staggering cinematic experience.
Massive production values - including a motion picture stunt crew, professional talent for voice acting and graphic novels, motion capture and authentic digital source material from New York City.
MANY ADDITIONAL FEATURES TO BE ANNOUNCED

I loved the 1st one, and this will rule just as hard.
Hurry up hurry up
And the official site is up www.maxpayne2.com with some great looking screenshots and a cool new Hollywood style theme song, and is it me or does the new Max Payne look slightly like Timothy Hutton?

MMmMMMMMMmmmmm. Max Payne was cool but got boring quickly (didn't stop me playing to the end though) but I'm expecting big things from this one.
Half Life 2 - Nov 29.
Doom 3 - next year.
