(ign's in depth preview of Banjo Kazooie: Gruntilda's Revenge)
From
"well the XB is pretty big compared to the GC I mean I cant even pick one up,"
To Dringo's less obvious pedantic digs at Microsoft.
It's just so beautiful.

Yes lets write off a good company on the strength of one bad game.

Their early games on the N64 too great if you ask me. Blast Corps was ok and Killer Instinct was terrible also Diddy Kong racing wasn't great.
Rare's early games on a console aren't always their best.

See above. As you have said time will tell on this one.

Conker online? Good stuff although I'd rather have the old N64 Perfect Dark online.

Hmmm. Didn't I already make the point about Rare taking their time on games?
And we

Did you see Perfect Dark? How long was that in development for? Rare didn't make Daikatana but since we're on the subject Ion Storm produced Deus Ex aswell which was revolutionary in many respects.
Of course time will tell as to the quality of their new Xbox titles, developed without the guiding influence of Nintendo, but they don't look too great at the moment.
What do we have:

Conker: Live & Uncut: a deathmatch game ripped straight from the N64 with a few added bells and whistles.
Kameo: a game that's been longer in development that Galleon. And we know what happens to most games that are in development for that long. Did you see Daikatana?

Pfft. Er I don't think so.
Microsoft are in for the long haul, they just want to get established in the market with the Xbox. Rare have always taken a long time to produce games, and they've released quality titles which have had time and care lavished on them to make them the best they can be.
A little over a year ago I think Rare employed about 10 times as many people as it had employed over most, if not all, of the N64's lifespan. Rare are gearing up to leave a bigger imprint on the games industry and make no mistake Rare's games are up there on a par with Nintendo's games. Rare have set the standard and raised the bar for games a great many times.
So it's quite possible we will see adult orientated games with Nintendo style gameplay. Anyone fancy a Zelda-style adventure with bullet using weapons? It's goingto come from Rare before it comes from Nintendo.
Rare have branched out, they are trying new things as an innovative company should.
Did Microsoft waste their money? Nope.
Did Microsoft waste their money? Yup.

Im guessing that Rare probably started to make that game when they were still with Nintendo, we all know how long it takes Rare to finish games - it wouldnt be the most impossible scenario that they started this game 2 - 3 years and decided not to pull it.
Oh, the irony. The first original game out of Rare since Nintendo let the studio go to Microsoft is, strangely enough, for a Nintendo system. Not counting the Game Boy Advance port of Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge is actually the first game out of Rare since the company released Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube in 2002.
