Yet despite the minor flaws Microsoft software is becomming more stable. I've often wondered why Microsoft produce flawed products, after a few moments of deep thought I came to the simple conclusion... its because theyre a software company with a monopoly. Think about it, Mac OS X is stable and reliable. The same is true of many other operating systems such as Workbench on the Amiga, or even the Acorns OS. The reason these are so reliable is because the software sells the hardware. If the Mac OS was as unreliable as Windows then no Imacs would sell, even if they do look pretty! This is why I welcome Microsofts arrival into the world of hardware.
The first step for Microsoft is the Xbox which is looking like it will be an enormous success, at least in the US. The Xbox is the just the start for Microsoft, its not only going to get it into the games industry but will give it a good reputation as a hardware manufacturer. Eventually Microsoft will produce the Xbox 2, and perhaps even a home PC box.
Perhaps this will mean that Microsoft is changing its spots, and will finally give us what we want, a operating system that is stable! In the mean time we can all look forward to great games on the Xbox while Microsofts tests the waters of the Hardware market.
Its just a thought :-)

I want to wait until it is launched, before I say anything about it.
