I get the Official Xbox Magazine every month but like to get more than one review for games so I pick and choose some other magazines to suplement my reading.

Every month I go into my local shop and pick up 'Games' magazine and every month it pans any Xbox release. I have barely seen an Xbox game get more than 6/10 yet seen some ordinary PS2/Gamecube/GBA games get stupidly high scores.

Is this just my bias in favour of the Xbox, is it that the other consoles genuinely bringing out better games or is it that the reviewers in 'Games' magaizne are discruntled ex-Microsoft employees.

What is you opinion on this.

Do you really think there's some kind of hidden agenda against the Xbox with Games TM magazine?

Could it not be that there's just not that many *great* Xbox titles deserving highscores?

I wonder if expectation has some influence on the review score. I mean if a game is multiformat then I would expect that the game sound and graphics would be better on the Xbox than PS2 or GC, Xbox is the more powerful machine after all. And if a game is going multiformat does this deter developers from making a good game on PS2 and GC a great game on Xbox. It must be easier to develop a good game that can be easily ported to all machines rather than a great game on Xbox that isn't so hot on the PS2 and GC because of their limitations (compared to Xbox).

With regards the xbox bias, maybe I am just not used to seeing a good/average game get 6/10 in reviews, maybe Games TM have a better balance to their review structure than the offical mags which can give these games 8/10.

I will be getting KOTOR shortly which I hope lives up to the 9/10 it got in Games TM. I am sure it will.

Pfft, Edge.

They're ridiculously harsh, and then they go and give Halo 10/10. Rubbish.

I was going to say, Edge gave Halo 10/10 so I wasn't sure if he was correcting someone for a trade mistake :)

In the past year I would have to say (in no particular order):

Skies of Arcadia
Resident Evil (remake for Cube)
Max Payne (Xbox)

Games I was honestly sorry to end in the past two years (most recently played first):

Grim Fandango
Metroid Prime
Skies of Arcadia

That is all.
Anything else I could have lived without.
