I run Windows 98 second edition and because I do not want to pay £100 for a router that means I will have to run LIVE through my PC connection. The only problem is that Windows 98 SE doesn't like sharing connections so I am finding out more info before I jump in. With XP though you shouldn't have a problem.

Basically you need:

A network card with Ethernet port
Ethernet Crossover Cable
LIVE subscrition
Minimum speed of 256KB/S Broadband connection

If you want a direct connection without having to have your PC on at the same time then someone else will have to help.

I intend to run a connection through my PC, we have 2000! What I want to know is how much is a second network card, and is this significantly cheaper than a 2nd hand router, which would be my preferred method, but not if it was too expensive!
Cheers!
