I was reading through a games magazine when I asked myself this question,'Why can't we play more of a role in games development'. I know that this may sound stupid, but it just seemed to pop into my head.

But what if we could play more of a role in games development. I don't mean actually making the games and things like that, I just mean the features of the games.

How many times have you played through a game and found things that aren't in the game that could have made it better? This has happened to me several times, normally while playing beat em ups (as this is my best genre).
But, how could we play more of a role in games development.

Well, I have been thinking about that. What if companies such as THQ and Capcom among others, have a part of their internet sites dedicated to what people think of their previous games and how they could be improved. These improvements could then be used in the next game. I know this may not be much of playing a role, but it does get those ideas that you had across.
I bet that if you are playing that game and see your idea in there, you'd be chuffed to know that you helped to get it in there. Well, some games would anyway.

It would be good if we had much more of an influence on games development. Does anybody else think this would be good? How else could we influence games development?

Games developers should definately ask gamers for their creative input - especially on sequels where most gamers could pinpoint how the first game could be improved.

If I'm not mistaken I think Core Design did something like that whilst they were making Tomb Raider 3. They asked fans of the first two TR games to email them with what they would like to see in the 3rd instalment.

More games developers should do this. They would get free ideas and gamers would get better games. Fair deal.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
LOVE it....
You have made it so easy to build & host a website!!!
