Noticed this over at IGN.com: Although the regions may be different, this is what they claim have problems with the Xbox DVD:

Movie Problem
Bad Boys Won't play.
Blue Velvet Eventually skips and stutter.
DareDevil Problems at layer change.
Fantasia 2000 Some minor skipping.
Gangs of New York Skipping at layer change.
Hot Chick, The Won't play at all.
Jason X Freezes mid-way through.
Killer Clowns from Outer Space Won't play at all.
Me, Myself & Irene Won't play at all.
Mulholland Drive Eventually skips and stutters.
Planet of the Apes (2001) ** Locks up at Chapter 16.
Platoon Freezes after Elias's death.
Pulp Fiction: SE Pixilation during Christopher Walken's scene.
Rush Hour 2 Skips near the end.
Shanghai Knights Locks and skips after pillow fight.
Solaris Locks up almost immediately.
The Terminator: SE Constant freezing, audio drops in and out.
Terminator 2: UE Disc 2 won't load at all.
The Thin Red Line ** Freezes late in the movie.
Transformers: The Movie Won't play.

I received my Multi-region DVD player yesterday so I am selling my Xbox DVD playback kit.

My Daredevil DVD (both of them) runs fine, as did both Terminator and Terminator 2.

the only incompatibility issue I have is with the none-multi-region-ness.

in this day and age when you can pick up a multi-region DVD player for as little as £50, I EXPECT microsofts little bundle of joy to accept my Region 1 DVD.

Even if they released a DVD Region X thingy, that would be acceptable.

I bought stephen Kings 'the stand' off e-bay about 3 months ago, R1. As my PS2 died around the same time, I have not yet watched it.

c'mon microsoft, pull your finger outta yer ass and give us what we want
