That stupid F1 championship!!!

I have kept a 100% win rate so far, but that may now be in jeopardy! I have won the first six races of the tournament, and am now starting Laguna Seca.

Laguna Seca is usually one of my better courses, one I can count on for an easy win.... however.... though I changed my oil right before the championship, as it is now the seventh race (the first six were huge) the oil is a disgusting grey (I know because I quit the championship to take a look).

The bhp on the car has dropped from 813 to 774, whilst the Computer controlled cars have apparently maintained the same bhp value. As a result, I just can`t match their pace. Only perfect laps allow me to keep up, and that can`t be done 33 times in a row!

To add to the problem, I can barely keep up with their pitting. They only stop three times, which is tough, because it means 8 and nine lap stints, which make my tyres really go off for the last couple of laps. If i go for four stops, then I lose another 15-20 seconds!

I just can`t win. I`ve tried reducing the gear ratio level so as to improve my acceleration, which helped a bit, but not enough. I`ve also fiddled with the TCS and other bits abd bobs, but again, none of them provide a significant boost.

I may have to accept defeat, and lose the 100% ratio, and then come back in the newly oiled Poly, and whoop their butts! Shame though.

Any ideas, before I make it 99%?

I had to reset without saving once or twice, but on the whole, it ain`t too tough.... until now...

However, I tried the Laguna Seca race again today, and dropped the gear ratios down another 3 levels. It allowed me to scrape a win after having to do 33 virtual perfect laps.

Only three races to go now... Apricot Hill, Tokyo, and Monaco!

You've kept an 100% record?! thats amazing. I only got somthin like a 55% win ratio. U must of messed up a race somewhere along the line, what do u do? just turn it off without saving if u dont win?

mine is at 71%, which aint very amazing at all, but then again I don`t give a monkeys anus about the 100% record thing.

yes it`d b cool 2 keep it at 100% but some series races, when it came 2 the testcourse, I got outrun by some car or other. so I thought pants 2 the 100% record.

I think if u quit a race it counts as a loss, in fact it must do. cause I haven`t lost a great a great deal. certainly not as much as 29%. most of it is due to entering races and quitting them, I guess.

I doubt you get any bonuses for it, but its nice to keep, as I`ve kept it up for 91% of the game...

As for the doing it again till you win... I will keep trying, but I`ve already done it three times, just to get third, third and second. The poly1s are just too quick.

If I stay with them for the first bit, I can get them stuck. I had one stuck in the pit lane, and one behind a barrier, but I could never keep all three back. To concentrate on one, meant losing another. If I just raced though, they`d pull away just before the pits as my tyres wore away.

Does the 100% win record give you any bonuses.

And why dont you just keep racing the last few races until you win??

I can, but I don`t want to lose the 100% win record.

I may have to go with what you said though, unless there is another way...

Well, since you won the first 6 races you might as well enter the races and then quit them. You will win the championship anyway I believe and you can come back and do them later.I dont know if thats just reopeating what you said
