First off, what were they on when they slated Donkey Kong Country?
The graphics ARE great, the gameplay was also great, oozing with a unique style and a great jungle feel. Also had the best game music ever.
Their Halo rundown was a bit naff.
Their main arguments were the usual PC-Elitist bull over the control pad not being as good as a keyboard and splitscreen being crap...
They DID have a good point about the level design though. The repetitive level design did ruin it a little bit for me, but that's nit picking! :-)
As to Quake 2, what they didn't print was that the supposedly "Second Coming" of PC FPS, the ULTIMATE shooter to end them all was finally released, and other than the fact new PCs could push more polygons...
... the N64's Goldeneye had already surpassed it in every other way! :-)

When I reviewed The Getaway for SR I gave it big thumbs down 5/10. It should really have been lower, but I must have been feeling generous at the time.

I think the Getaway should be near the top. Absolutely over rated. I didn't think Enter The Matrix was that good either.
I can see what they mean about it being over rated. Its always picked out as the best FF game by far but the other FFs are all outstanding in their own ways.

I can't believe some people haven't played Donkey Kong Country. Jeez it was revolutionary and will always remain an all time classic.
As for Metal Gear Solid 2... Why the hell did they give it 97% if they think that? Me thinks they have completely misjudged the game if one minute they say it lives up to all the hype and the next they say its the second most over rated game of all time.
