I thought Seattle might have been doing a better job by now. They've got some really good hitters. Maybe they need a few decent pitchers?

Sheffield is one of the Yankees better hitters at the moment, so that would be a disappointing loss.

Well Sheffield was talking about leaving anyway at end of this season so i wouldn't be surprised to see him traded this year. The one person i'd like to see in the pinstripes is Ichiro

Anyway, the Yankees are looking like shifting up a gear. They were talking about the Yankees last night and they were saying that only 3-4 players are playing well and the others aren't pulling their weight.

They were talking about a 'fire sale' which I would assume in a clearout, but it sounded like a few players are on big contracts which would cost a heck of a lot.

In baseball talk (ah shut up :-D) what's going on with the Yankees? Have they suddenly decided, hey actually we're pretty good let's start playing like it, now they've hit the 11-19 mark? Given all the teams a nice head start and now coming after them?

2 shutouts in 2 and one from Kevin Brown of all people. Now Oakland won't exactly be having their line up competing for any batting titles but still pretty good.

Come on Yankees!!!
