Actually, that's probably slightly harsh, as their is a lower-rung than agent in the travel industry...REPS!!!

Of course i got a booking.. :) Only one of the day though :o(.. i was 5K for a short break to paris.. so im not complaining.. however the agent was a complete numnut.

Well, only 40 minutes to go...question is did you get a booking out of the call? All I've had on the phones are cold callers...as if a company with the relaince Thomas Cook has on telecoms are going to switch from BT to a two man operation run out of a shed in Utah...

*sighs* as boredom sinks in.. Cong was on a call for 3 hours :| after lunch.. Oh what fun...

Thinking about it more, I would think that the background would play a major role. I'm trying hard not to be cruel here but I would assume most football players came from a poorer background, having a football on their foot when they were young, knowing that if they can get the kid to succeed, they can help the rest of the family out.

For motor racing drivers, they would probably come from a richer background. Perhaps they felt a smaller name would benefit them in their careers.

Maybe it's just a simple fact that they changed their names so that people would wonder which names to say. :D

I can't seem to get my head around it because I don't really know Brazilian culture that well.

Maybe it has something to do with their background, how they were raised, how much money they had when they were growing up, family members, important people in their lives? I could go on.

Grandprix (or anyone else for that matter) I've been so bored this afternoon, that I've been musing quite randomly and one of the questions I've never had answered is why Brazilian footballers who have several names, all get abbreviated to one name (such as Pelé, Ronaldo, Dunga etc), but Brazilian F1 drivers all seem to have two names (Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barrichello, Pedro Diniz etc...)

Anyone know???
