Lipe, I'm a procurement assistant for the IT and Telecoms section of Thomas Cook, based at their head office in Peterborough. My job inolves getting quotes for any 'ad-hoc' or one off IT and Telecoms equipment or services for the organisation. My other repsonsibilites are training users in the use of SAP (the program which allows users to enter what they are buying, logs it, seeks approval from the relevant budget holders and/or board members and automatically generates a Purchase Order, the legal document which we send to the companies we buy equipment or services from, ensuring they comply to our terms and conditions and that they will be paid for the amount stated. As well as liasing with suppliers and the business to resolve any problems in the process

Not many people will be in their first proper job until retirement age. I know i wont as i hate it.
If you dont mean Stacy who on earth do you mean then?

True. But I still haven't decided whether I want to do this as a career or not. Theoretically it is perfect, as University convinced me that I didn't want to work in computer programming, but by doing this, I get to keep my hand in and apply at least some of the concepts/facts/ideas I learned at Uni, without getting into the hardcore/geeky.techy side of things. Plus the money is good, particularly in relation to how little work I have to do and yet I'm not sure if I can see myself doing this for the next 40 years...
And, I've never MET Stacy. Unless you mean your mate Stacy in which case....eughhh....

Well when you worked in a shop. You were on less money and i was a job NOT a career. As for the latter part of the post.. Awww you marrying Stacy ;):P
It's funny, when I had a job in a shop, where I always had too much work to squeeze into one day and was always busy, it meant that days went quicker, but I longed for a job where I didn't have so much to do. Now I have a job where there isn't so much to do, the boredom is making days go slowly. Oh well, less than a month now until I get to spend 2 weeks in the sun and marry the most gorgeous, fabulous woman I've ever had the pleasure to know...
