Well at least the Rock didn't kick out of the immortal leg drop - that would've been stupid

But they could've done it better - had Austin break up the count, then JR could've orgasmed over saying "Would he have kicked out? Would he have kicked out?"

Then Rock could've got the Rock Bottom or People's Elbow on Hogan, and Hall or Nash could've broken it up

Then, again, JR could've said "Would he have kicked out?"

Then we'd have something to look forward to in their match, to see if one of them can kick out

But, no, the WWF think they know best - the match has no hype, and I think this Wrestlemania will be the worst in a long time

Not to have a dig at any of Hulk Hogans major fans here but did you see him fight on Raw this week?

Rubbish, no?

He was slow and boring, lets face it he didn't do any moves, except maybe the one body slam he did. Also he didn't sell too well, see Austin spear takedown on him? Pathetic.

Anyway my point is, I hope he pulls something out of the bag in time for Wrestlemania to make his match against Rock watchable.

He wasn't even in the ring as long as I would have liked either. It seems Hogan is still at the 'old wwf style' of vintage punches and kicks then finisher match line up.

Come on Hogan.

How do the writers use language to show how the creature in “Frankenstein” and Trevor in “The destructors” are outsiders in society

Introduction

Both the creature in Frankenstein and Trevor in “the Destructors” are outsiders in society but both for different reasons.
The creature is an outsider because he looks different and is disgusting, people don’t like him because he looks ugly so they don’t want to be near him.

Trevor in “the destructors” is an outsider because he chooses to be one himself. He is mysterious and doesn’t talk a lot unless it is for something important.
They both feel different about being outsiders. Trevor doesn’t care about being an outsider but the creature hates being one.

There were lots of influences on Mary Shelley when she wrote “Frankenstein” in 1816. They include the fact that machines were being created and it was also around the time of new scientific discoveries.

The creature is an embodiment of contempory fears, this helps explain why everyone in the novel is scared of the creature.
The time in which “the destructors” was set also influenced the story because bombs had destroyed so much, that attitudes to possessions had changed and people had experienced pain and bereavement.

This helps to explain Trevor because he has seen a lot of destruction and now he doesn’t care about anyone’s possessions.

Section 1.

The creatures first experience is when he goes out and all the people he see’s either try to attack him or they run away from him.
He tried to help a girl who had fallen into a river but when her father saw the monster with her the father shot him.
Victor at first ran away in disgust at the monsters appearance.
“His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries”.
That is how he became aware of being different.

Section 2.

He likes and has respect for the humans and he likes the way they have built all their houses and how they can live together without fighting. He helped the family by taking firewood and their tools and using them for their advantage.
He grows to worship the cottagers because they help him learn words and he thinks they are kind.
“I gazed with a kind of wonder, it moved slowly but it enlightened my path” he loved the look of the moon as it moved along. This shows he tries to see the beauty in the world.
When the weather is nice he seems to be in a happy mood but he gets into a bad mood when the weather turns bad.

Section 3.
The creature’s goodness turns to rage and vengeance because “his friends” the4 cottagers chucked the creature out. The blind old man made friends with the creature but as soon as the blind mans family come back they take one look at the monster and then “Felix darted forward and struck him violently with a stick”.
The cottagers just took one look at the creature and then attacked him because of the way he looked. The way he feels about his place in the universe now is that he has no place left in the world to go.
He decides to start a war on humankind “should I feel kindness to my enemies?”
He decides there is no point trying to be nice to humans any more.
“From that moment on I declared ever lasting war against the species”.

Section 4.

The creature is treated with hatred by Victor “be gone vile insect or rather stay that I may trample you to dust”
Victor warns the creature but I think that he should look after his own creation.
The creature has a point when he says “I am thy creature, and I will be mild and docile to my natural lord and king, only if thou wilt perform thy part, which thou owest me”.
The creature will respect and look up to Victor but only if Victor does the same back.
The creatures last wish is for Victor to make a female creature to be with. If Victor disagrees then the creature will “Glut the maw of death, until it be satiated with the blood of your remaining friends.”

Section 5.

Trevor is different in behaviour, background and personality to the other boys in the wormsley common gang in many ways. He acts very mature and he uses words like “beautiful” when describing things. His background is very different. His father was an architect but became only a clerk so it was a come down in the world”. This could be the reason for Trevor’s anger and his use of big words is because he used to be from a higher-class background. He gained leadership of the wormsley common gang near enough straight away. The rest of the gang thought his presence was sinister.
He has “the odd quality of danger”. He seems mysterious and he has a “dark gaze” which makes Mike feel uneasy.

Section 6.

Trevor picks the house because he thinks it is fate that the house survived the blitz so he thinks he has a right to destroy the house.
“Wren built that house, father says” which is a startling fact for a person his age and this also shows how different he is. He behaves maturely and much older then he really is all the way through the destruction until Mr Thomas comes back earlier then expected, Trevor starts to whinge “but why, he told me”. He protested with the fury of the child he had never been. His temper tantrum was a shock to every one because he is normally so calm and quite. He soon loses authority when he “pleads” with the rest of the group to help him.

Conclusion

Shelley presents the creature as an outsider but not through his own choice, he is made an outcast because of his looks. But Greene has presented Trevor as an outcast through his own choice, he and his mother think they are better then the rest so they make themselves outcasts. Shelley has used pathetic fallacy very well, when it is sunny the creature is in a good mood, but when it is rainy the creature is not happy, this allows us to follow the creatures emotions.
Greene is also clever in describing the destruction of the house “like a worm inside an apple”, no one can see what the boys are doing but they have creeped inside and decayed the inside of the house away.
