I am you're new number one!
Today I returned to district 6, I grew up in this place but decided to return to see how much had changed. When I lived here when I was younger most of the black community lived in poverty just like I did.
I came back in hope of seeing the black communities doing well and living next door to white people, But all I saw when I returned was exactly the same as when I lived their, the black people still were not as well off as the whites and the blacks were still being treated as not important people.
In fact the only thing that had changed was that there was a new restaurant open but that was for whites only, it didn’t say anywhere that it was only for whites but you just you would be given directions to a local café up the road instead of being allowed in. The rest of district 6 is still how I remembered it, it is full of wasteland and is not looked after by any one.
I feel so angry that nothing has changed, no new places have been made for blacks to go, the anger that I have would make me do things that I wouldn’t normally do. As I look through the window of the posh restaurant the anger boils up inside me. A brick? A bomb? Any of these things would help me smash the divide between the poor black people and the white people.
Nothings changed in south Africa, the black people are still poor and the white people still “rule” over them
